The new-look Kia Sorento is now available in the UK. The new-look Kia Sorento features slight style changes, upgraded interior, improved equipment, safety and driving dynamics. Kia Sorento is available in four trim levels – KX-1, KX-2, KX-2 Sat-Nav and KX-3, the car will be offered as a 7-seat SUV. In addition, the model will have the starting price of £26,495.

Engine and specification:

The car is equipped with the 2.2-litre CRDi turbodiesel engine; it has a capacity to deliver 194 bhp of maximum power 422 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed auto transmission. The Sorento can accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in 9.4 seconds (manual) or 9.5 seconds (auto), and gives it a top speed of 190 km/h. It also has CO₂emissions of 155 g/km. Continue Reading ›

Kia Motors America (KMA) has joined forces with DC Entertainment and RIDES magazine to create ‘Batman Inspired’ Kia Optima’. The car goes on display this week at the Time Warner Centre in New York. It comes with premium features in a sleek, aggressive design customized with several unique Batman elements.

 The project kicks off a 10-month partnership that will produce other concepts with DC Entertainment for the We Can Be Heroes initiative. In response to consumer demand, the Korean automaker Kia has announced a limited run of 2013 Rio SX hatchbacks equipped with manual transmissions for the American market. Kia will produce less than 500 units of the 2013 Rio SX manual. The Rio SX M/T is inspired by Rio B-spec race car.

Before this, buyers that bought the top Kia Rio SX trim could only get it with an automatic transmission, but currently Kia is offering it in limited quantities with a manual transmission. More good news, the V40 has the best result ever tested in EuroNCAP! With the almost perfect 98% adult occupant rating and 88% for pedestrian safety, these are the top scores ever given by EuroNCAP to a car!

The impressive pedestrian safety performance is due to the innovative design of the front end where it has pop-up bonnet as well as pedestrian airbag that raises the rear portion of the bonnet as it inflates to cover the windscreen and A-pillars.The airbag will greatly reduces the injury of the pedestrian’s head when collision between the car and pedestrian is imminent.
