The Chery Eastar is probably the second most successful China sourced vehicle on our shores. The top spot goes to the Naza Forza/Sutera, which is basically a rebadged Hafei Lobo. Priced well below the RM100K mark and a fairly large compared to its similarly priced rivals, its no surprise to occasionally see a couple of them on public roads.
Proportioned like a large stationwagon, the front overhang minimizes the boxy perception of MPVs. Dimensionally it dwarfs the Nissan Grand Livina, Stream and Wish at a length of 4662mm. Not much difference sets it apart from the earlier B240 version. Generally, it’s more towards the family/mature market but could do better with maybe a set of optional body kit and bigger wheels ala Impul Grand Livina style.
