Another Mazda came to town! This time around, it’s the SUV – CX-5. While Mazda also sold the previous generation CX-5 in Malaysia, we can barely see one on our road. However, this CX-5 is set to change the scene, with already more than 600 bookings right after tha launching. There will be 2 variants for the CX-5, a 2WD and a AWD, where the former is priced at RM155k while the latter is priced at RM165k (OTR without insurance).  The CX-5 gained Mazda’s newest KODO design language and front fascia, looking sexy but I’m not a fan of the overly large grille. The rotary-powered Mazda RX-8′s days is coming to an end soon. As a farewell, Mazda produced a final special edition for the unique four-door coupe called Spirit-R. It is available for sale since November 24, 2011 in Japan. Due to popular demand, the automaker is giving the popular Japan-only sports car one last stand with an extra 1,000 unit production run. Sales will be limited in Japan only and this mean that production will extend to June this year. The Spirit-R is priced including tax at 3,250,000 yen for the manual model and 3,120,000 yen for the auto model. Like many other family oriented sedans, there are plenty of storage areas throughout the cabin starting off with the rather large front door pockets which I recon able to hold a 1.5litre bottle. The centre console unit though commodious could do better with a lid to hide stuff from prying eyes. For longer items, the back seats spit 60/40 to a 454litre boot free from suspension intrusion. Safety aspects are taken care of by a total of 4 airbags for front occupants on top of the usual 4 3-point and single-lap seat belts.
