Most accidents occur during rainy days because of poor visibility but believe it or not driving during rainy days provides positive effect to the cooling system. When driving in rainy days there are two aspects that should be taken into consideration, the vehicle itself and the steps taken during driving.

The vehicle / The car

  • Ensure that the vehicle / the car are in tip top condition.
  • Check for leakage under the vehicle as well as for the engine, gear box, piston and bearing, to avoid water from coming in. Water in the engine or any parts mention above will cause damage of extensive cost.

By 1 year ago 0 comments

I am not ashamed to admit that I do not know much about the meaning of the number at the tires of my car. Sometimes I just nod every time my mechanic starts to explain about my tires especially when I am changing it or changing the rim of my car. For me it is not important, but I am wrong, so now I am sharing with those who are less educated about tires as I am, YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

How will this information does you? Believe or not by knowing the meaning or the details will help each and every one of us to decide on the best and suitable tires for our car and suitable tires help in reducing oil consumption in which help in reducing our cost for petrol / oil.

For example:

175 / 70R13 82H

  1. 175 =  Refer to the width in millimeter, distance between side to side. The bigger the number means the wider the tires.
  2. 70 =   Aspect ratio of the tires or the height of the tire compared to width of the tire. Example, the height of the tire is 70%  of the width of the tire. Tire with the ratio aspect of 55 is classified as low profile tires. This tire provide a better whole handling performances but may affect a bit the comfort aspect. Read more ›

My car, my house..NOT!!!!

By 1 year ago 0 comments

In my car there are these essential things, such as a mini fire extinguisher, first aid kit, a multipurpose torch light and also a GO TO bag (extra cloth, and toiletries). If we do surveys, there are many different things in a person car. Sometimes, the things are unnecessary and not many people especially women know the effect that extra weight have on your car as well as safety.

Extra inappropriate weight will increase the fuel consumption more than the normal level, because the engine has to work an extra mile for the extra weight that is being carried. Some cars install carrier on top of their roof. It is handy as an extra storage compartment but it increases the oil consumption by 5%. Please take into consideration of not installing the carrier for accessorizing purpose. The carrier itself acts as a barrier in which it impedes with the aerodynamic of the car thus making it hard for the car to accelerate smoothly.

In terms of safety, some items are easily combust, such as gas canister and also perfume. The heat inside the car may act as a trigger for combustion, so keeping these items in the car for a long period of time may cause harm for the driver and the passenger. Read more ›

  2. Flowery arrangement 0n the dashboard or all around the car.
  3. Teddy bears (especially collection), pillows, car sticker that indicates a woman is driving this car.

The Hazardous of Hazard Light

By 1 year ago 0 comments

This happened to me 2 years ago on my way to send my sister back to Shah Alam.  It was raining heavily, pouring and the visibility rate was low. I can’t hardly see the vehicle in front of me, but I know that I was in the middle lane. All of the cars on the highway started to slow down, as a prevention method. It is dangerous to speed during heavy rain, even the fast lane was as slow as the left lane.

Out of the blue, there two to three cars started to used their hazard light. Hazard light can only be used during emergency, and at that time the situation cannot be consider as emergency. It was heavy rain. All of the sudden a vehicle from the right lane swerved to the middle in front of my car, and I had to swerved to the left lane to avoid collision, it was happening so fast that a car hit me from behind and the impact was hard. Jack of All Trades

By 1 year ago 0 comments

As a car owner, one must be prepared with all possibilities. In my car, there is a mini fire extinguisher, a first aid kit, a small blanket, and bottles of plain water (1 or two bottles – for my radiator / any emergencies). There is also one additional item  The multifunction tools with Life hammer”. Many car owners do not know the existence of such tool or perhaps knowing it but with another name. The hammer was a gift from my sister when I bought my Persona 2 years ago.

What is good about multifunction tools?

The tool is equip with LED  blinking light (red in color) in which it is visible up to 200m and able to blink continuously for 72 hours non stop. There is also a built in reamer that can cut seat belt during emergency or accidents and a build in life hammer that can break side windscreen.  It also has a magnetic based that can be placed on any parts of the vehicle and can be used to inform on-coming vehicles of breakdown or while changing tyre and it is also a torchlight. The size and weight of the tool will amaze others.

A simple tool with a lot of life saving function, it is useful and handy during emergencies. I put mine in my arm rest compartment thus making it accessible during any incidents. “BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY”.
