Porsche 918 Spyder

By 10 months ago 0 comments

“My mobile phone has a camera” I innocently remarked, “Oh yes, we’ll take that too” was the official-ish reply. Shrouded in the kind of secrecy that would put Area 51 to shame and guarded by those who could possibly serve Obama better than the Secret Service, the all-new 918 Spyder was revealed to selected members of the world motoring media in Korea recently.

Volkswagen Polo Sedan 1.6 – first impressions

By 11 months ago 1 comment

“It’s an all-new vehicle, not a car that started life as a hatchback, and we just stuck a boot on the back of it”. I heard that statement at least three times during the recent VW media drive in Langkawi. I think it’s a good point actually, one worth repeating, hence my using it as the opening of this article. Mercedes SL500 – first impressions

By 1 year ago 0 comments

Breathtaking. Is that one word or two? It doesn’t matter because that’s how I felt – when I first saw the new Mercedes-Benz SL.

There are cars made to transport people from A to B, and there are cars made to race or travel long distances with ease. The SL was made with perhaps just one objective in mind: pure, unadulterated fun. It only seats two, doesn’t have much of a boot once the roof is stowed and that elongated front end is going to make parking it in the city an absolute nightmare. But who cares?!…

Can The Prevé Beat Its Own Competition?

By 1 year ago 0 comments

Monopolistic Competition. It’s a contradiction in terms, but it really does exist in the world of economics. A monopoly is when you have no competition – something that got Microsoft into trouble sometime back – so how can monopolistic competition exist? While many may argue the facts or fictions about MC, I sensed it happening right here recently, thanks to our first national carmaker, and its latest incarnation, the P3-21A or Prevé.
