Toyota’s racing and tuning partner Gazoo Racing has unveiled a new concept at Tokyo Auto Salon known as the ‘GRMN SPORTS FR Concept PLATINUM’. The Platinum features revised styling, a supercharger and a turbocharger which further distances it from the Toyota 86.Engine and specification:

For the performance upgrades, Gazoo Racing has added a supercharger and a turbocharger to its 2.0 litre boxer engine. Along with other improvements, it has a capacity to deliver 325 horsepower of maximum power and 431 Nm of torque. The car comes with over 50% increase of power output. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission which sends power to the rear wheels via a limited slip differential.

To compliment the whole package, Gazoo Racing had also prepared an uprated suspension to improve road handling and high-performance brakes to handle all the extra power this Concept has.

Exterior & Interior

On the exterior, the concept gets a new front end with different headlamps, bumper and vented hood. The tuner has also revised the rear end of the coupe that gains newly shaped taillights and a bumper with a diffuser and re-sculptured boot lid housing a large wing. The GRMN FR Sports Concept Platinum has also received wider, vented front and rear fenders.

The wheels fitted are a set of 18-inch BBS alloys wrapped with Bridgestone rubber. Dimensions for the tires are 245/40 in front and 265/35 at the back.

Inside, it also gets a number of special features which highlight the aggressive nature of this car. A full role cage is fitted, alongside bucket seats with four-point seat belts, a race-spec steering wheel and other interior elements to complete the Sports FR Concept Platinum look.
