With 450hp, 610Nm of torque and a whole lot of technical and modern improvements and implications, this Stingray proves to be the most powerful stinger of the bunch.

0-100km/h goes by in under four seconds, 9 liters/100km fuel economy, and mind boggling handling thanks to its extreme lightweight build. That seems to be the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray’s designation; uncompromising power and handling, but somehow managing great fuel-economy.
Also oddly included in this piece of American muscle, is a five-position Drive Mode Selector. You also get a brand new seven-speed manual transmission, equipped with Active Rev Matching, a system which anticipates gear selections, and matches engine speeds for precise shifts, all the time.
For the extremist, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray also has an option for a track-capable Z51 Performance Package. With this, you get an electronic limited-slip diff, dry-sump oiling system, integral brake, differential and transmission cooling, as well as a unique aero package that further improves high-speed stability.
“Stingray is one of the hallowed names in automotive history,” said Ed Welburn, GM vice president of global design. “We knew we couldn’t use the Stingray name unless the new car truly lived up to the legacy. The result is a new Corvette Stingray that breaks from tradition, while remaining instantly recognisable as a Corvette the world over.”
