Chevrolet Malaysia Presents Chevrolet Captiva to the National Sports Council and the National Dive Team

By 1 year ago

Two brand new units of Chevrolet Captiva were given to the National Sports Council and the National Dive team as an endorsement deal to support their preparation for the 2016 RIO Olympics. The SUVs will also be used to transport the athletes and officials throughout the country for events and trainings.

Datuk Maruan Mohd Said, the Chief Operating Officer of NAZA Quest Sdn Bhd, handed over the SUVs to Dato’ Ab Jalil Bin Hj Abdullah, Director of Sport Management Department of the National Sports Council on the 8th of November 2012. The decision by Chevrolet Malaysia to endorse the National Dive Team, which includes the country first female Olympic medalist, Pandelela Rinong, came as they believed that the team’s recent performance in the world stage warranted some support from the corporate sector.

Apart from this endorsement deal, Chevrolet and the Naza Group has been very active in supporting local sporting events such as the International Sepak Takraw Federation (ISTAF) World Cup 2011, Chelsea Air Tour 2011, and the Jelajah 1Malaysia cycling race.

While the Chevrolet Captiva’s bold aesthetics already captures much desired attention, what sets this SUV apart is its luxurious interior and superb performance. The Chevrolet Captiva is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged Diesel VCDI engine which produces 163PS at 3,800 rpm and 360Nm of torque from 2,750 rpm. All this power is delivered through a 6-speed automatic transmission with Driver Shift Control (DSC) and ECO mode technology.
