Honda Malaysia has introduced a Freed variant today, the Freed S to accompany the solitary Freed E previously. The new variant pushes the price down enough to make it more enticing compared to the price it had previously.
As such, the Freed S does not have the Freed E’s tailgate spoiler, no signal lights at the side mirrors, no variable intermittent function for the wipers, has manual control air-conditioning and misses out on an audio unit that plays DVDs. While these are not defining functions to the Freed model, the following is – automatic sliding doors. So the Freed S will have manual sliding doors (at both sides), a function that I always find to be very liberating, particularly when you have young children.
The good news? The price for the Freed S is RM99,800 (OTR with insurance); not exactly cheap but still substantially less than the RM113,493 for the Freed E variant. And Honda Malaysia still includes all the safety features that is fitted in the more expensive sibling including ABS, EBD, the G-CON body construction and dual front airbags.
