Honda has revealed the all-new CR-V for Europe market. The fourth generation of the mid-sized off SUV has been redesigned with improvements in quality, practicality and sophistication. The new CR-V will be available in UK showrooms starting from October 2012.
Engine and specification:
There are three engines available. Equipped with 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel engine, it has a capacity to deliver 150PS of maximum power at 350 Nm of torque. When mated with a manual transmission and stop-start, CO2 emissions fall from 171g/km to 149g/km. When mated with a five-speed automatic transmission, CO2 emissions fall from 195g/km to 175g/km.
Equipped with 2.0-litre i-VTEC engine, it has a capacity to deliver 155PS of maximum power at 192Nm of torque. When mated with a manual transmission and stop-start, CO2 emissions fall from 192g/km to 174g/km. When mated with a five-speed automatic transmission, CO2 emissions fall from 195g/km to 176g/km. Buyers who are choosing for the 2.0 i-VTEC two-wheel drive will see an additional reduction in CO2 emissions to 170g/km.
There will be a new 1.6 litre diesel engine variant arriving in 2013. Equipped with 1.6-liter turbo diesel engine, it has a capacity to deliver 120PS of maximum power at 300Nm of torque. CO2 emissions claimed at 99 g/km that is very impressive for a mid-sized SUV.
Exterior, Interior & Safety:
On the exterior, the European model features a number of enhancements. This includes a revised front bumper, front LED daytime running lights and rear LED lights, reshaped mirrors that incorporate turning signals and a fin-style antenna.
In the interior, it features improved materials which are designed to make it feel wider and roomier. The boot capacity is 569 litres behind the rear seats or 1669 litres with the electrically operated rear seats folded.
In terms of safety, CR-V comes with Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control, Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Mitigation Braking that can lessen the severity of accidents.
