Renault has revealed the all-new, fourth generation of its city car recently. The latest model of Renault Clio is designed to attract younger buyers. Renault said that the new Clio will be launched in the UK in early 2013.
Engine and specification:
French carmaker Renault revealed that the Clio will be available with three types of engine. First, equipped with 900cc Energy TCe engine, it has a capacity to deliver 90 PS of maximum power at 135 Nm of torque. The engine consumes only 4.3-liters of fuel per 100 kilometer and emit 99g/km of CO2.
The new diesel engine for the car equipped with Energy dCi 90, it has a capacity to deliver 90 hp of maximum power at 220 Nm of torque. It has 20 Nm more than the current dCi 90. This engine comes with fuel consumption of just 3.2 liters/100km and CO2 emissions for the diesel are as low as 83g/km..
Lastly, there is the new four cylinder 1.2-litre petrol, it has a capacity to deliver 120 hp of maximum power at 190 Nm of torque. It is mated to new six-speed EDC double-clutch automatic transmission. The same transmission will be optional on the diesel.
Exterior & Interior:
Renault Clio is available with eight body colors including the new Flame Red. The car is only available as a five-door. In addition, Renault has included a set of 16-inch alloy wheels as standard finished in two-tone chrome and black for the car.
The new generation of the Renault Clio will become available for its potential buyers with feature like ‘R-Link’ interface, which incorporates a seven-inch touchscreen display into the dashboard, compatible with voice control and with integrated TomTom navigation. Apps can be downloaded to your own car to be used. Another feature is the Renault Bass Reflex system, which incorporates front door-mounted loudspeakers with better bass performance.
