Edaran Tan Chong Motor Unveils the Nissan NV200 Semi Panel Van

By 11 months ago

Nissan has always been one of the mainstays in the country’s commercial vehicle industry, especially when we speak of vans. Recently Nissan through Edaran Tan Chong Motor launched the NV200 Panel Van in Malaysia, and more recently a new variant of this van called the NV200 Semi Panel Van was unveiled for the benefit of the local population. From what we see, the semi panel van is a 5-seater now, which would compromise a little bit of cargo space but more passengers can now ride in the van. Let us go into details now.

In terms of exterior size, the Nissan NV200 semi panel van remains the same as the panel van, though it does compromise some cargo area to allow a second row of seats behind the driver’s seat. Instead of being a two seater, the van is now a five seater, and passengers are able to enter the middle portion of the van to the seats through sliding doors on both sides of the semi panel van. These doors come with fixed glass windows for the record. You can still load cargo into the van, but via the rear top hinged door, and the volume of allowable cargo has now dropped to 2.33 cubic meters.

In terms of performance, the van comes with the 1.6-litre HR16DE engine that features the CVTC valve timing technology, one that can churn out up to 109PS of power and 152Nm of torque. Transmission is a 5-speed manual unit, while the van also comes with safety features such as ABS, EBD, an electric power steering and also a single airbag on the driver’s side. In terms of pricing, the NV200 semi panel van will be carrying a price tag of RM70,900 in Peninsular Malaysia, and it is being offered with a 3-year/100,000km warranty. This van should appeal to those wanting to ferry passengers and workers around while still needing to carry a limited amount of cargo as well.
