All-new Mazda 6 First Photos Revealed

By 10 months ago

Mazda has announced today that the new Mazda 6 sedan will have its world premiere at – of all places – the 2012 Moscow International Automobile Salon starting late August. Also known as the Atenza in its country of origin, the upcoming 6 is totally redesigned for the first time in 5 years.

From the very first pictures we have included here, it looks to be quite a stunner, a little something the Hiroshima-based manufacturer is known for the past few years. The new Mazda 6 is also the second generation of new products which incorporates the full range of Skyactiv technology and the Kodo – Soul of Emotion design language. Also new will be a brake energy regeneration system so often heard in BMW’s EfficientDynamics system, and even F1. Mazda call theirs i-Eloop.

Unless Mazda releases more of these little snippets before the Moscow show which starts August 31 and runs to September 9, we can only speculate what will be the car’s specification details. The car to be exhibited in Russia, as Mazda have revealed, will have the Skyactiv-G 2.0 gasoline engine with 6-speed Skyactiv-Drive gearbox.

Here in Malaysia, importers Bermaz have brought in the CX-5 with Skyactiv technology and we’ve driven it! Read our review here.
