It doesn’t matter where or who we are; we have to protect ourselves and other people too.Always keep in mind that we are not always safe.To travel safely, use safety belt or commonly known as seat belt is the answer.
As a traveller, you should always remember that safety is very important. Everyone including you who travel in the same vehicle has to put on seat belt. There is no excuse for not wearing the belt, and it is an offense in most countries. Whether you are travelling near or far, seat belt is a must, but most people neglected their responsibilities by not wearing it.
Anybody without seat belts can be given summonses because it is also the driver’s duty to make sure every passenger including him or herself to wear the safety belt. It is said that most of the disobedient travellers are aged between 17 to 34 years old lack of the initiative to wear seat belts while travelling.
Seat belts help to save most lives. It helps to secure you in place so that you won’t be flung out from the vehicle easily. Although there is no 100% promise that you will get unhurt but at least it helps you to avoid major injuries at times.
if you wear the seat belts correctly, it might save one’s life. You are liable to pay fines if you are the driver and your passengers or you didn’t wear the safety belt. It is your fault that you didn’t check before starting the journey.
There are some special cases that you are exempted from wearing seat belts. You must have the Certificate of Exemption that is issued by the Compulsory Seat Belt Wearing. Only these situations are allowed:
- You are working with the emergency response team or services such as ambulance, firemen and police.
- You are working with the government agencies or services such as Military Defence Service and postal service.
- You have medical illness or disabilities such as sitting on a wheel chair all the time, and bedridden.
Think of your loved ones. When accident happens, it is too late to regret. No point in saying sorry as it is your fault. Wear the safety belt. Always remember safety first! You are not the only road user, there are others who drives, who walks, who run. Think of them too. Do your part and have responsibility.
