New Mazda MX-5 GT Concept

Mazda has finally revealed a new version of the MX-5 roadster. Known as the MX-5 GT Concept, it will make its first appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Mazda has said that the MX-5 GT Concept is designed to test public reaction to a faster MX-5 and to get some feedback from potential customers. The new concept model has been built by race specialists Jota Sport.

Engine and specification:
Equipped with 2.0-liter inline-four-cylinder engine , it has a capacity to deliver 205bhp of maximum power. Mazda said that the output has been boosted by about 40 horsepower from 158 hp to 205 hp.
The MX-5 GT Concept is mated with the same six-speed manual transmission as the standard car. Mazda claims the MX-5 GT is able to hit 257 km/h top speed and can accelerate from 0-96 km/h in three seconds only.
Suspension has been updated to enhance handling and is adaptable for different road conditions. In addition, a carbon front splitter, a rear diffuser and boot spoiler to give aerodynamics a boost that also add to the roadster concept’s look.The car is also equipped with a sports exhaust system with central tailpipe to give the upgrade an extra performance.
Exterior & Interior
The car rides on black alloy wheels shod in 18-inch Falken FK 452 performance. The car is finished in a deep orange hue with contrasting black details.
In the interior, the car is fitted with Recaro seats which enhance the driver and passenger stability. in addition, the interior features several items made from carbon that trim down the weight of the car. For purchasers who want to purchase the car for track use, they have the option of ordering parts such as road slicks and body-colored roll hoops behind the seats.
