Mercedes-Benz is updating its SLS AMG supercar for the 2013 model year. The exclusive 2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT comes with more power, an improved transmission and more dynamic suspension settings. Therefore, it boasts enhanced driving dynamics and even better on-track performance. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT will be offered in the form coupe and roadster.
Engine and specification:
Equipped with AMG 6.3-liter V8 engine, it has a capacity to deliver 591 hp of maximum power at 650 Nm of torque. There is an additional 20 horsepower compared to the previous model. This results in a new 0-100 km/h time of just 3.6 seconds and and onto 200 km/h in 11.2 seconds. It is mated to a re-calibrated AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission to enhance the drving experience for the driver.
It also features anewly developed AMG Adaptive Performance Suspension whch enhances the vehicle’s sportiness. Top speed has been electronically-limited to 317 km/h.
Exterior, Interior & Safety:
To differentiate the SLS GT, features will comprise darkened headlamps and tail lights, and red-painted brake callipers. in addition, the new SLS rides on 19-inch alloy wheels with the dimension of 265/35-series rubber in front, while 20-inch alloy wheels with the dimension of 295/30 series tires are fitted on the rear. Next to the AMG logo on the right of the boot lid you will come across the additional letters “GT”. All of this contributes for the new appearance of the vehicle.
The interior of the 2013 SLS AMG GT has as well been upgraded. The optional AMG Designo Exclusive Style leather package is now offered in three different color combinations, giving buyers the selection of single or two-tone finishes and diamond stitch patterns.
In terms of safety, Mercedes has made available optional carbon ceramic brakes to handle the added power and speed of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT.
