9th Generation Honda Accord Coupe and Sedan Vehicles Unveiled

The Honda Accord has been one of the most reliable set of wheels that you can consider when we speak of D-segment vehicles here in Malaysia, and I am sure fans of the Accord would be excited to know that the 9^th generation variant of this amazing set of wheels will be unveiled real soon. TO add to the attractiveness of the 9^th generation accord, we will also get to witness the unveiling of the ultra-stylish Accord Coupe, a vehicle that was first unveiled in its concept vehicle format at the recently-concluded North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The car is absolutely gorgeous in terms of design, and from what we hear the production model will not differ much in terms of external design when it is unveiled. This year’s fall will see Honda release the Accord Coupe in North America for the mass market, and I am sure there will already be a long line waiting for the vehicle to be launched! In terms of powertrain options, there will be three new options to choose from which includes the 4-cylinder 2.4-litre direct injection engine as well as a motor plug-in hybrid system. In addition the sedan version of the car will come with the range-topping V6 engine that will be mated to a 6-speed auto gearbox (for the very-first time).

In terms of size, both the coupe and sedan versions of the car will offer plenty in cabin space, though the sedan will be slightly more compact in terms of overall dimensions. Weight of the cars have reduced, which means that fuel efficiency will improve, while handling and driving dynamics will be better as well. If you opt for the 2.4-litre variant, you would have 181bhp of power and 240nm of torque under your hood. The car will be mated with a 6-speed manual, or a CVT unit.

For the 3.5-litre V6 unit, you can choose from the new 6-speed auto unit or the 6-speed manual gearbox. And if you opt for the 2-motor plug-in hybrid system, you will have driving selections such as all-electric, gasoline-electric as well as direct-drive to choose from. The coupe looks superb and I am sure it will handle as well too, while the sedan hybrid should also prove to be an interesting offering for the 9^th generation Honda Accord.
