Tesla might not be a renowned car manufacturer, but it strives to make its mark known in the automobile world by launching the Tesla Model S, an all electric sport sedan. Such production will take place at Tesla Motor that is situated at Silicon Valley. According to Tesla, the new Model S was designed strictly from scratch and did not use any car model as a base of its creation. The new production will make its way to the public eye during second half of 2012, in which three different types of lithium ion battery packs will be offered, starting with 160, 230 and 300 miles.

Moving along side by side with the Model S is its aggressive competitor the Fisker Karma which is also a mid-size lavish sport sedan that is powered with an electric engine. However, what makes them different is that the Model S is powered solely by its battery pack while the Fisker Karma has an additional 2.0 litre gasoline engine to generate power to the car once it is short supplied. Such feature of Model S had ensure that there will be smooth sailing along the way without having any noise pollution because an electric powered car is usually quiet, besides, it has also zero emission due to the battery status. What makes the Model S a sport car is that it is able to run up to 60mph in approximately 6 seconds with a top speed of 130 mph. some had commented that the Model S is able to fight side by side with other German sedans such as the Audi A6, BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

The bone structure of the Model S is lustrous and stumpy; also to ensure its uniqueness, the Model S is a 5 door hatchback sedan which is different from others in the market. The heart of the vehicle is places silently within a floor pan that is just few inches tall. With such confinement usage of space by the engine, designers have the freedom to assign wider cabin space. Which means that the Model S is now able to accommodate seven seats, where 2 of them are made specially for kids? Sounds impossible? Then you are wrong. Designer not only is able to fully utilise the space of the cabin, they too were able to add a pinch of sophistication and class to its interior.

Besides, to add on to the topping of the cake, a 17 inch colour display was planted at the centre stack of the car which is by far the largest that was ever produced in the automobile world. Also, Tesla had confidently said that the warranty for its battery pack varies from 7 to 10 years with a separate 3 to 4 years warranty for the vehicle. That is no wonder why the Model S had created such a big hit even before it was launched.
