2012 SEAT Ibiza facelift announced
The new generation SEAT Ibiza is scheduled to arrive soon. SEAT will reveal a facelifted version of the Ibiza supermini at the Geneva Auto Show in March. The new SEAT Ibiza captures the heart of the fans with exciting design and fun-to-drive character, innovative technology and enhanced functionality and quality.
The petrol engine line-up comprises a 1.2-litre 60 PS, 1.2 TSI Ecomotive 105 PS (with start/stop technology). There is also the 1.4 TSI in the FR that is fitted with both a supercharger and turbocharger giving it 150PS and a 0-100 km/h time of 7.8 seconds. Therefore, it has a top speed of 212 km/h.
Diesel engines comprise a 1.2 TDI E Ecomotive (75 PS) (with start/stop technology) that only produces CO2 emissions of 89 g/km. There is a 2.0 TDI which is able produce143 PS also available. A top speed of 210 km/h comes with an average fuel consumption of just 4.6 litres. Transmissions include five- and six-speed manuals and a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch auto’.
New SEAT Ibiza features a trapezoidal grille, flattened proportions and low air intakes. The FR version adds to the already-sportier appearance with redesigned front and rear bumpers. The FR has big fog lamps and integrated cornering lights as standard and these are options on all other models. Other light options include two types of halogen light, bi-xenon lamps and LED daytime running lamps. Alloy wheels are provided between 15 and 17 inches in size, and consist of several new designs.
Inside the car, the new Ibiza features higher-quality materials and a greater choice of trims and colour options. There’s also a new climate control system and instrument binnacle. The glove compartment has a generous storage volume of 10.7 litres. The Ibiza will be also available in three-door SC, five-door hatchback and five-door ST estate body styles.
