2012 Mercedes M-Class: Facelifted but greatly improved!

By 1 year ago

The looks of the upcoming Mercedes M-Class can be deceiving. It looks like a brand new car due to the totally revamped front end but it’s actually a facelift exercise. The M-Class bears a resemblance of its sporty sibling CLS, which is not a bad thing at all…

The pre-facelift Mercedes M-Class is rugged looking SUV which is the favourite among soccer mom or executives. After the facelift, Mercedes brought a fresh feel and more luxurious look to it. Although it has lost some of its ruggedness in its design, I’m pretty sure underneath of the M-Class, it’s still a pretty good offroader!

To improve the M-Class‘ offroad ability, an optional self-leveling Airmatic suspension with selective damping is available, it offers six different transmission modes to match driving conditions to deliver the best performance.

A revised front fascia improved the cabin’s visual greatly. The dashboard looks more like a S-Class now, with updated COMAND infotainment system, generous wood trim and thickly padded leather interior. Quality and fit and finishing shouldn’t be an issue for Mercedes.

As usual for Mercedes, there will be a lot of variants for a Mercedes model. The base ML250 will be powered by a 204bhp, 2.1liter diesel four-cylinder, while the ML350 Bluetec is paired with a 258bhp, 3.0liter diesel V6 and the ML350 BlueEfficiency uses the direct-injected 306bhp, 3.5liter V6 engine.
