Save petrol tips

By 1 year ago 0 comments

Petrol prices are increasing again, meaning that its moment to be smart with your petrol use.

1.        Drive Consistently.
In most situations the number one tip you hear is to drive gradually. While driving gradually does help, there are several examples where that is not the best way of battle. For instance, if you are a speed person, probabilities are you will impulsively wish to go faster than you are aiming to. In this situation, you will finish up speeding up and slowing down more frequently, which will makes you to make use of more petrol. The best way is to drive a steady speed. Stop and get going smoothly, and you will be save your petrol.

2.        Pump the air
Have low pressure in your tires can in fact make your petrol financial system worse, and means your tires will wear in a different way. Make sure your tire pressure every few weeks to make sure it’s at the good level.

3.        Let in the air.
While several people do not know it, with your air conditioning on, it can lower your fuel economy. As a substitute, choose to roll down your windows. This will let you to get hold of some fresh air, and will as well save your gas!

4.        Keep it clean.
Maintaining your car hygienic will let it to be smoother. Reflect about it – which would be smoother for air to move in the car, the properly waxed car or the one full of mud and dirt?

5.        Downsize
If you are searching at obtaining a new car, thinks about your requirements. While you might need to fetch your children around, but they are all grown up and have their own car.  Perhaps a Kelisa or Myvi would suit your needs just too.

Mitsubishi – Global Small Car Concept

By 1 year ago 0 comments

This concept will be unveiled 2 months from now. The idea is to have compact, accessibility and fuel consumption in the concept car.

Sometimes i really wonder how are they suppose to keep the cost down while investing so much in all these concepts of producing a very cost efficient vehicle.

This concept will be based on first-class energy efficiency and CO2 emissions will be around 90g / km.

Engine should be pretty small, around 1.0-1.2 l with CVT gearbox for efficient gear transmission. Also this car will have regenerative braking.

With all these kind of tech to be included in this concept, i really wonder how can the cost be minimized, as all these stuff are considered like the higher class stuff compared to current market situation…

Car breaks down on a highway

By 1 year ago 0 comments

If you are a dynamic driver, possibilities are at some time you have or will face an urgent situation whiles driving. This may include an accident, an out of order vehicle, a worn out tire, or even bad weather conditions. On the other hand, be familiar with that any crisis can be handled if you can keep your fright in order and a clear mind.

There is actual pressure when you drive and it is sensible for you to alert yourself to be ready for a crisis. The most ordinary site for an emergency to happen is on the highway. Certainly, pulling off to the shoulder of a highway alone is unsafe but if you follow these regulations, you can handle this condition right.

First, the minute you know you are in a compromised circumstances, put your emergency or hazard lights on to let other drivers aware of you. This is in particular important if you are attempting to get off the highway and on to the shoulder. Bearing in mind that the speeds that most drivers are passing through at, the simple fact that your car drove at reduced speed significantly puts you at risk. Put your hazards on and ensure you make use of your signals to allow other drivers identify you are trying to get out of traffic.

Once you have stopped, ensure your car is as noticeable as possible. If it is nighttimes or light is limited, switch on your lights and check interior lights are on. Continue to on your hazard lights.

If you have a hand phone, call for aid right away. Try to communicate any details about your site to the person on the other end of the phone. If you become conscious you need instant aid and get down from your car and try to get a passing motorist’s awareness.

New Yokohoma for my Ride !

By 1 year ago 0 comments

This is where i went on Saturday morning, somewhere in Old Town, Jalan Penchala (Same street as Campbell soup manufacturer.

Heard that tyre prices are going to go up end of this month, so i had to change my tires as i really have worn tires. Fyi i only ran 25,000 km and the tires are ‘eating’ inside and outside…

As you can see there is still like 50% of thread on the middle part of the tyre, but there is like just 10% left on the sides….. all 4 sides ! Its either i take too much corners, or the tyre is under-inflated….

So i decided to change all four tires since the sides are all in the warning zone….. And i decided to go for Yokohama A-Drive R1. The profile is 225/40 R18, where its more thinner than my previous Yokos and also wider a bit.

These are Made in Philippines and okay i know, i heard a lot of bad comments about these tires. But somehow i got drawn to Yokohama’s brand and i still opted for it :p

The treadwear is 300, even more than previous Advans at 280. I checked that these tires were made on the 52nd week of 2010, which is just a month old !

Took really quite some time to put on the tires, as the low profiles are really difficult to be inserted into the rims. The Senior Manager came out to make sure that the fitting is correct. So my advise for those out there with low profiles, please have a thorough check at what these guys are doing when fitting :p

Finally done alignment and i am pretty surprised that this shop actually gave me a printout of what are my camber, toe, caster readings after i have finished alignment. Thats pretty cool :)

I have only driven these new set of rubber for a few days and frankly speaking, in terms of tyre noise, its pretty much the same as the stock Advan tires, just sometimes some “wuuuung wuuungg” sound will appear at certain speed…. but it will vanish once you accelerate.

Will give you guys more feedback on these set of tires once they are “opened” up

p/s : one more thing, i can really “feel” that these tires the compound is harder than the stock Yokos, or maybe because i went a profile lower that it feels more hard.
