Happy New Year everyone! 2010 has been a great year for buying and selling cars. We would like to share with you the top ten car models on Carlist.my for 2010.

10. Honda City
Coming in number 10 is Honda City, Honda’s signature subcompact car.

9. Perodua Myvi
The popular Perodua Myvi isn’t lacking in popularity either. With it getting the Best-Selling National Car in Malaysia for the past few years, it’s no wonder that it is on this list.

8. Toyota Vios
The popular Toyota subcompact comes in at number 8. It has been the Best-Selling Non-National Car in Malaysia for a few years now and definitely deserves to be here.

7. Toyota Camry
The Vios’s elder brother takes the 7th place. No surprises here as this model has been known for its good build quality for a few generations now.

6. BMW 3
The BMW 3 Series remains a very popular car among used car searches as it is one of the more affordable BMW cars and is more attractive to Malaysian buyers than the BMW 1 Series.

5. Proton Wira
Proton’s flagship car during the mid-90s and early 2000s is still going strong in used car searches.

4. Honda Accord
Number 4 is Honda’s mid-sized model, the Honda Accord. It remains very popular among Malaysians.

3. Toyota Estima
The Toyota Estima has always been a very popular car among Malaysia car buyers but it has not been featured in many best-selling car statistics as it has always been imported as a reconditioned car.

2. Mercedes-benz E-Class
The executive Mercedes-benz model takes the number 2 spot. It is definitely a surprise to see it take the number 2 spot as Mercedes-benz has been losing its appeal to the younger generation who prefers BMW or Audi.

1. Honda Civic
The top spot goes to Honda Civic! The sporty Civic has always been popular among youngsters, who usually buy used ones and modify it heavily to suit their car modification needs.

It is good to know that while Toyota is doing so well in new car sales, Honda models are actually more popular in used car searches except for the City, which is slightly less popular than the Toyota Vios.
