What does a spoiler actually do?

By 1 year ago 1 comment

We’ve all seen modified cars on the road, with large exhaust pipes and mufflers, huge shiny sport rims, and most importantly front and rear spoilers, which give these cars a futuristic ‘pimped-out’ look. So besides contributing immensely to the aesthetics of a car, do these spoilers actually contribute any worthwhile improvements to the car?

To answer this question, we need to first take a look at how spoilers actually function and how they improve a car’s aerodynamics.  As we can see in the picture below, what spoilers do is to actually ‘spoil’ unfavorable air movement across the surface of a car in motion, which is the cause of friction and wind resistance. Rear spoilers function to direct airflow appropriately around the outer surface of a car in order to reduce drag and resistance, while front spoilers have the added function of preventing aerodynamic ‘lift’, keeping the car firmly rooted to the ground.

Saman Ekor & Black Listing

By 1 year ago 0 comments

Saman Ekor are basically summons issued by mail instead of directly from the boys in blue. They come under the jurisdiction of notice 170A which usually involves cases of speeding and beating the traffic lights caught on camera. In such an event, it means that the accused is alleged or ‘have been seen’ to have committed the offence, thus is then required to defend himself under the principal of “innocent till proven guilty”. The big fuss started when somebody started blacklisting those summoned even before they appear to defend themselves.

Lotus Exige S vs Ford Mustang

By 1 year ago Comments are Disabled

It seems to be totatly in different class placing the Lotus Exige S with the American Favorite Ford Mustang. But interestingly, the time attack by the Stig actually place Lotus Exige S on top of Lamborghini Gallardo. Comparing $74,995 for the Lotus Exige S260 with a $200,000 Lamborghini. So it is also faster than a Ferrari 575, Porsche Cayman, BMW M5, Evo VIII MRFQ 520 and a lot more

Put Your (Proper) Shoes On

By 1 year ago 0 comments

A few days ago, when I was going out for a drive, I realised my driving confidence plummeted and it was certainly not due to the motorists zigzagging on the road. Running through a checklist in my head, I noticed it was my thin-soled shoes I wore responsible for the anxiety to kick into overdrive.

This is a true testament why wearing proper shoes for driving is crucial in our daily life. Because there are many of us out there who wears high heels, thick-soled shoes or no shoes at all, they don’t realised the potential danger it brings to them and indirectly to others as well.

The New or Used Car Dilemma

By 1 year ago 0 comments

For those looking to purchase a car, his or her choice is pretty much narrowed down to either buying a used car or a new car. Buying a new car has plenty of positives, yet you would have to compromised in terms of cost as a new car would undoubtedly be more expensive than a used car.

On the other hand, if you opt to purchase a used car, you would most definitely save in terms of cost, but there could be some drawbacks as well as you would not be able to gauge the actual condition of the car when you buy it. Thus the best thing to do when you are buying a used car would be either to purchase it from someone that you know (who takes care of his car well of course), or you could also drag your car mechanic along when taking a look at the car in question as he would be able to tell you how good the condition of the car is in reality.

Choosing the Right Rental Car Package for Yourself

By 1 year ago 0 comments

If you are an expatriate trying to make a living in Malaysia, you would most probably have arrived in this country with very little things with you. Thus the chances of you bringing your car along from your previous country would be extremely slim. This makes your daily travel a bit of a hassle, especially if you are planning to head out for a trip somewhere with your family. When this happens, rather than opting for a cab, why not rent a car yourself? Not only would you be able to travel more conveniently and comfortably, you would also be probably spending less in the long run if you plan your trip well!

But before you rent you car, take into account the below tips to help you choose the right rental car package for yourself:

1) Always ensure that you know the type of car or vehicle that you are looking for, and your decision must be based on your needs rather than emotions. If you are looking to travel with your fairly large family, opt for a spacious and comfortable MPV such as the Naza Ria to accommodate both your family and your luggage, rather than opting for a sports car that might be stylish to drive, but would not serve your purpose.
