BMW X6 M G-Power Typhoon RS

By 1 year ago 0 comments

Imagine if your car’s actual name had the word ‘typhoon’ or ‘power’ in it. Imagine if your car has 900hp, propelling you past the 300km/h mark. Imagine if your car is one of the 5 rare breeds of specially developed BMW X6 globally.

What you are seeing here is the G-Power X6 Typhoon RS ultimate V10. Under the bonnet is a 5.5L V10 block, supercharged by two ASA T1-316 compressors. The high-performance MAHLE pistons and the 7-bearing crank shaft are forged. With a new engine data map, peak performance is rated at 900hp / 662kW at 8000rpm while maximum torque is at 870Nm at 6800 rpm, transmitted to the rear wheels via 6-speed auto gearbox.

Without the all-wheel-drive hardware, a few titanium parts for the exhaust system, four individual carbon-fiber seats with some other interior weight reduction, this beast is 150kg off the standard X6. Century dash takes a mere 4.2 seconds, and will march up to 200km/h in 13 seconds. Read more ›

Checklist for Purchasing Secondhand Cars

By 1 year ago 0 comments

Everyone is on the lookout for a good deal, and purchasing used cars is one of the best money-saving deals there is. A new car depreciates like nobody’s business, with its’ value dropping to 60-70% of the original value within the short span of only a few years. Thus, a savvy consumer can really save a bundle by hunting around for the best value-for-money secondhand car available. Nevertheless, buying a secondhand car is always a gamble, as, despite what previous owners or salesmen tell you, there is no guarantee that the car in question is totally accident-free or well-maintained.

Here, we have a short checklist which will help in determining whether or not a secondhand car has been reasonably well taken care of by previous owner(s). The first and key step is checking the car body for any irregularities such as uneven surfaces on the car (definite indicator of prior accidents), mismatched or uneven colours (doors/parts may have been replaced and repainted after accidents), uneven gap width between doors/trunk and body, as well as rust or corrosion on the car itself. Land Rover Evoque in Disguise

By 1 year ago 0 comments

Normally car manufacturers would prefer to keep their new products away from the public. Thus, though not much here in Boleh-land, they are often disguised under black gaffer-tape or fake exterior bits while being tested in the real environment. However, what Land Rover has done is probably killing two birds with one stone.

Using ten prototype Range Rover Evoque models dressed in fancy colorful GPS mapping stickers of each city where it is tested, every unit also sports a big Hello sign on the side. The chosen lucky cities are London, New York, Sao Paulo, Paris, Milan, Madrid, Berlin, Sydney, Shanghai and Moscow. Surely the guy behind the idea deserves a pat on his back for promoting the vehicle and having it road tested without too much technical shoutout at the same time. Read more ›

Tips on Rainy Days

By 1 year ago 0 comments

Most accidents occur during rainy days because of poor visibility but believe it or not driving during rainy days provides positive effect to the cooling system. When driving in rainy days there are two aspects that should be taken into consideration, the vehicle itself and the steps taken during driving.

The vehicle / The car

  • Ensure that the vehicle / the car are in tip top condition.
  • Check for leakage under the vehicle as well as for the engine, gear box, piston and bearing, to avoid water from coming in. Water in the engine or any parts mention above will cause damage of extensive cost.
  • Ensure that all doors have proper seal
  • Ensure clutch, brake and handbrake are working properly. Read more ›

Fuel Vapor's Ale

It is obvious that you might have heard of diesel fuel powered cars, biodiesel powered cars and on a more modern context, solar powered cars as well as electric powered cars. But have you ever heard of cars that are powered by carbon dioxide? No? Well, this is the first for me too. So, let’s take a look at these cars, learn how they work and what are their advantages as well as disadvantages, shall we?

From several readings, it is found that these carbon dioxide powered cars or CO2 cars are somewhat similar to pinewood derby vehicles. So why are these cars called CO2 cars? Well, it is obviously due to the fact that a CO2 cartridge powers these cars. Yes, you heard right!

As of today, CO2 powered cars are not produced or used commercially. Most of these cars are used as means to learn and experiment. In the United States or America, these cars are used for the purpose of learning. High schools use these cars for engineering classes. They learn all about the design of the car as well as the dynamics.  As for university levels, students learn to make their own model of these cars. Read more ›

Understanding Tire for Dummies (LIKE ME)

By 1 year ago 0 comments

I am not ashamed to admit that I do not know much about the meaning of the number at the tires of my car. Sometimes I just nod every time my mechanic starts to explain about my tires especially when I am changing it or changing the rim of my car. For me it is not important, but I am wrong, so now I am sharing with those who are less educated about tires as I am, YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

How will this information does you? Believe or not by knowing the meaning or the details will help each and every one of us to decide on the best and suitable tires for our car and suitable tires help in reducing oil consumption in which help in reducing our cost for petrol / oil.

For example:

175 / 70R13 82H

  1. 175 =  Refer to the width in millimeter, distance between side to side. The bigger the number means the wider the tires.
  2. 70 =   Aspect ratio of the tires or the height of the tire compared to width of the tire. Example, the height of the tire is 70%  of the width of the tire. Tire with the ratio aspect of 55 is classified as low profile tires. This tire provide a better whole handling performances but may affect a bit the comfort aspect. Read more ›

WAXING

By 1 year ago 0 comments

wax

Waxing provides your vehicle unusual glow and helps to defend the paint from damage surroundings. When applied, the wax outlines a thin translucent coating over the car paint. This coating conceals slight scratches and other damages, making them less noticeable. The polish also ‘close ups’ the paint, stopping water from getting in touch with the exposed metal on the car.
