By 1 year ago Comments are Disabled

Toyota’s cheif test driver, Hiromu Naruse, 67 years old, has dies in a crash on highway 410 near Nürburgring race track in Germany. Naruse-san has joined Toyota since 1963 and is so-called the Godfather of the Lexus LFA.

This is a prototype of a special edition of the Lexus LFA which crashed head-on to a BMW with two other test drivers. While the BMW drivers survived, but one is in critical condition. Plus both victims were wearing helmets.

other odd thing is that they were driving against each other..

I thought Nurburgring was a one way track, didn’t know that cars can come on the opposite direction…..

Hyundai’s i30 1.6 Hatch

By 1 year ago 0 comments

Launched last year, the i30 was the second offering from Hyundai to wear their new ‘i’ badge here after the 1.1cc i10. Unlike older predecessors, the chassis and finishing was penned to be more ‘European’, thus it was very well accepted in that continent.

C-Category Hatchback

With a length of 4245mm and 1775 in width, it’s shy of the Peugeot 308’s 4276mm length and width of 1815mm. However, the wheelbase is longer by 42mm at 2650mm. The front end is plainly finished with similar cues of the cuter i10 sibling. From the 3-quarter rear view however, one might mistaken it with the smallest range from a Bavarian car manufacturer, if not the taller rear lamps and curved-up C-pillar.  Read more ›

Drooling Over the Valkyrie R8

By 1 year ago 0 comments

Valkyrie from the word valkyrja (chooser of the slain) in Norse mythology, is one of the female figure who decide who to die in battle. With such a cool name like that, the boys from SR Auto Group certainly made their point with their new offering – the Valkyrie Audi R8 V10.

First previewed at the 2003 International Geneva Motor Show, and launched at the 2006 Paris Auto Show, the R8 remains stunningly attractive for a supercar with comfort levels that shames most its rivals. While matte black R8s are nothing new, this “death chooser” has plenty of carbon fiber stuff including the front air dams, side skirts, rear diffusers and air vents. It rides on lowered H&R coils with Advance One ADV7.1 wheels (20 x 8.5 front, 20x 11 rear), finished with matte black faces and gloss black lips. To further enhance its menacing looks, all the lights are given a smoked treatment.

Handling Mods for your car.

By 1 year ago 0 comments

A stock car generally tends to be set up with passenger comfort and user friendliness in mind, which usually means a softer suspension set up and with it unfortunately comes a whole lot more body roll. Definitely not what one has in mind when it comes to performance handling. Taller cars such as MPV’s and SUV’s generally have it worse. That wobbly, squishy feeling when attacking corners does not provide confidence nor driving satisfaction. Not to fret though, there are a lot of aftermarket products out there which can enhance the handling characteristics of your car without too much hassle. Just get the money ready!  Lets see what options we have.

Change the Absorbers and Springs

Changing the springs and absorbers on your car will generally bring the most change in your cars handling. There are a lot of performance absorber/spring manufacturers out there and I’m pretty sure there are quite a few which make parts for your specific car. Sports or performance absorbers are usually stiffer than OEM and are matched with equally stiffer springs for less body roll. Most performance absorber/spring kits also tend to lower the car slightly and some are even adjustable, where you can have a couple of different ride height settings for your car.  Make sure you do your homework before settling for a brand and read up and ask around. Some models are more hardcore and can give a quite jarring ride or be too low for practical daily use.

2011 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite

By 1 year ago Comments are Disabled

Honda has officially unveiled the 2011 Odyssey Touring Elite. It is claimed that the new 2011 Honda Odyssey is lower and more aerodynamic, but we find it weird that the design is less sporty from the picture due to the bigger grill and headlight. The Odyssey will be powered by a 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 engine with estimated fuel mileage of 19 mpg for city drive and 28 mpg on highway.

This Odyssey is trying to connect to their market segment with their jam-packed features. It will come with HID front headlights, 18″ alloy wheels with 12.6 inch ventilated front disc brakes, power tailgate and power side mirrors with integrated turn indicators.

The interior features include a 12 speakers premium audio sound system, Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System with Voice Activation, Ultra-Wide Rear Entertainment System with split-screen capability (one cool screen), External HDMI input, 150-watt AC power outlet (useful at times), Removable 1st row center console, cool box, 10 way power driver’s seat with memory, LATCH child seat anchors in five seating positions, One-strap stowable third row magic seat (watch the video, quite nice features), sunshades for second and third row passenger, 15 beverage holders and trash bag ring (simple and useful features).

It seems that a lot of time, efforts and thoughts are taken to make this Odyssey the ultimate family car and especially for the younger generation.

The Hazardous of Hazard Light

By 1 year ago 0 comments

This happened to me 2 years ago on my way to send my sister back to Shah Alam.  It was raining heavily, pouring and the visibility rate was low. I can’t hardly see the vehicle in front of me, but I know that I was in the middle lane. All of the cars on the highway started to slow down, as a prevention method. It is dangerous to speed during heavy rain, even the fast lane was as slow as the left lane.

Out of the blue, there two to three cars started to used their hazard light. Hazard light can only be used during emergency, and at that time the situation cannot be consider as emergency. It was heavy rain. All of the sudden a vehicle from the right lane swerved to the middle in front of my car, and I had to swerved to the left lane to avoid collision, it was happening so fast that a car hit me from behind and the impact was hard.
