Drooling Over the Valkyrie R8

Valkyrie from the word valkyrja (chooser of the slain) in Norse mythology, is one of the female figure who decide who to die in battle. With such a cool name like that, the boys from SR Auto Group certainly made their point with their new offering – the Valkyrie Audi R8 V10.

First previewed at the 2003 International Geneva Motor Show, and launched at the 2006 Paris Auto Show, the R8 remains stunningly attractive for a supercar with comfort levels that shames most its rivals. While matte black R8s are nothing new, this “death chooser” has plenty of carbon fiber stuff including the front air dams, side skirts, rear diffusers and air vents. It rides on lowered H&R coils with Advance One ADV7.1 wheels (20 x 8.5 front, 20x 11 rear), finished with matte black faces and gloss black lips. To further enhance its menacing looks, all the lights are given a smoked treatment.

In the cabin, SR gave it their customized “SR Executive” upholstery with bits of fiber accents. No changes or fiddling were done under the bonnet, so it’s the familiar 5.2cc V10 delivering a hefty 500hp and 530Nm of torque
